I am contemplating using this Substack page as a temporary landing site for all things TENSE so people have a place to get information about the upcoming magazine and Tense related or sponsored events which includes movie screenings, a weekly film night, magazine parties/launches, readings, live performers and of course, a healthy dose of live theater. I might even start publishing some of my own vignettes I have read at various events recently in slightly longer form. Thus there is the potential for a potentially confusing smorgasbord of content which seems about right for my life. Stay tuned. Or better yet, remind me!!
Also, last Friday nights TENSE fundraiser resulted in a completely PACKED house and the attendees were delightfully entertained by Christian Lorentzen and Bob Laine performing a Lorentzen journalistic gem in the form of what I would almost call a two man radio play comedy, a mesmerizing piano recital of Rachmaninoff by Orville de las Torres, a mind blowing ballet/mime performance by Ellen Frances with a Rachmaninoff piano accompaniment by Jonathan Howard Katz, and readings by none other than the highly acclaimed novelist Will Chancellor, soon to be published novelist and a personal favorite, Matilda Berke and even a piece entitled The Annals of Shoplifting replete with my rap sheet on screen by myself against my better judgement. However, we still need to raise a lot more money to make TENSE a physical reality and we can only do that with your assistance. You can make a donation HERE:

Tomorrow II will post photos of the event all in black and white taken by photographer Matt Street.
Please, PLEASE, if you would, spread the word. A. successful kickstarter, while not required would make for a sooner and better launch of TENSE and help ensure more great TENSE events in the near future. Thank you all for your help and support!!
